Values
I deeply believe and have seen firsthand that my clients feel safer when they have a clear picture of their therapist’s identity and value. I practice from this place and want to use this space to share (some) of my identities: Asian, queer, cis-woman.
As someone who has seen a therapist for years - I recognize that spaces can rarely feel completely safe at first, or ever. Though I believe deeply that the therapy container should allow clients to feel liberated, which requires me to be intentional about navigating the ‘power’ dynamic - my goal is to create a space where my clients can show up as their truest selves. As the client, your innate wisdom is central, and the guide in our work together. I intentionally obtain professional supervision and/or consultation focused on working with queer, trans, and gender-expansive clients, navigating privilege, committed to competence and continued growth as a therapist.
